Francesco Lollobrigida
After receiving my diploma in classical studies, I attained a law degree at the Nicolò Cusano University, in Rome.
My political career began in 1996 in assuming the role of Provincial Secretary of the Youth Front (i.e. Fronte della Gioventù, youth wing of the Movimento Sociale Italiano – Italian Social Movement Party) for the Province of Rome and as Regional Representative CO.BA.R. (Military Union) of Lazio Region, during my military service in the Italian Air Force. I further pursued my political career by covering the role of City Councilor in the town of Subiaco (Province of Rome) until the year 2000.
At the time, different roles and positions inside the youth movements “Azione Studentesca” (Student Action, I.e. student movement of Alleanza Nazionale – National Alliance Party) and “Azione Giovani” (Youth Action, I.e. youth wing of Alleanza Nazionale – National Alliance Party), as well as in the National Assembly of “Alleanza Nazionale” have been covered.
I was elected to be Province Councilor for the City of Rome in 1998, then in 2005 I was appointed Assessor for Sport, Culture and Tourism for the town of Ardea (Province of Rome), then I was elected Regional Councilor in the Regional Council of Lazio in 2006 until 2010, year in which I was appointed Assessor for Mobility and Public Transportation of the Region.
In 2012, I was one of the main founders of the political party “Fratelli d’Italia” (Brothers of Italy), covering the position of responsible for the organisation of the activities of the Party as National Councilor from 2013 to 2018.
In the national political elections in 2018, I have been elected Deputy in the Italian Parliament, representing the district of Lazio, after that I was appointed to be the Parliamentary Leader of the Political Group “Fratelli d’Italia” in the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament.
After being successfully re-elected Din the national political elections of 2022, I was sworn in as Italy’s new Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, by the Italian President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella on October 22, 2022.
