Federico Buffa graduated in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. After working as an engineer for nine years in leading automotive companies, Federico joined the Group in 2007 as Global Engineering Director. After seven years of successful implementations, Federico was promoted in 2015 to R&D and Product Development Director.

In this role he oversees all product development phases and teams including designers, line planners, prototyping and technical R&D teams based in different areas throughout the world (i.e., Japan, China, the U.S. and Europe). Since 2020, in additions to his R&D and product development responsibilities, Federico has also been responsible for relationships with the Group’s licensing partners with Marketing and Boutique business teams under his supervision.

Inspirational research and forecasting fashion trends in close collaboration with both licenses and in-house brands, also falls within his responsibilities.
