IBM is present in Italy since 1927 and operates in more than 150 countries around the world. The IBM Lab in Rome is one of the largest software development labs in Italy and one of the largest IBM Software Group Labs in Europe. In 2015, IBM opened the first Italian Cloud Data Center, in Milan, with a $50 million investment. In 2019, it opened IBM Studios Milan investing 40 million euros over 9 years. More than 2,000 professionals placed at the disposal of businesses and public administration to develop innovative solutions. In 2019 it launched the Innovation Center in Rieti, investing 18 million euros and creating new professionals to serve PA and SMEs. In 2022, it further strengthened its historic headquarters in Bari, making it a center specializing in innovative AI-based solutions.
