We are a benefit company operating in the telecommunications sector, specialising in FWA Internet connectivity.
Our mission is to bring, with a 100% proprietary network, ultra-wideband connectivity, using the best technologies and the highest quality standards, to all areas of Italy, especially to small municipalities often affected by the digital speed divide.
We do this to guarantee the right to connection by keeping the person at the centre, with the aim of improving the quality of life and bringing value to organisations.
Thanks to the extension of our network and the number of households and companies that have chosen us, we are the first FWA network in Italy (Source: Agcom).
We are the first Italian telecommunications company to have been recognised as a B Corp, testifying to our concrete commitment to having a positive impact on territories, customers and all stakeholders.
EOLO’s history
The EOLO service was born in 2007 from an idea of Luca Spada, the company’s founder, whose aim was to bring a quality connection to small provincial towns, where he, too, still lives.
In January 2018, we launched the new EOLOwaveG network, bringing up to 100 Mega on a 28GHz licensed frequency, even for private citizens in small municipalities.
In April 2021, we became a Benefit Company, changing our legal form and defining new concrete and measurable sustainability goals in our articles of association. We have thus formalised EOLO’s Mission also within the company’s articles of association.
In September 2022, the EOLOwaveG network was further enhanced by increasing access speed to 200 Mega download and 50 Mega upload.
In January 2023 we obtained Bcorp certification, awarded to companies whose business has a positive impact on the territory. From September 2023 we deliver download speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
Today we are present throughout Italy, with coverage in more than 7,000 municipalities thanks to a network of over 4.100 BTS (radio repeaters) and more than 17,000 km of fibre optic backbones. We bring connectivity to 78% of white areas, those not reached by broadband, providing our service to 1.6 million people.
We employ more than 600 employees, located at our headquarters in Busto Arsizio (Varese, Italy) – a campus of 18,000 square metres with offices, research laboratories, logistics centre, conference centre, company restaurant and recreational areas – and our offices in Rome and Padua.
A network of more than 17,000 employees, technical installers and business partners work with us every day.
