Professor Orazio Schillaci, medical doctor, is the Minister of Health in the government led by Giorgia Meloni.

He is a full professor of Nuclear Medicine. He has served as the Rector of Tor Vergata University until October 2022 and as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the same university.

In 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian National Health Institute. He has held positions in numerous scientific organizations and is the author of over 350 peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as a member of several editorial boards of international scientific journals. He was sworn in by the President of the Republic on October 22, 2022.
